Dental hygienists are an important part of the dental team, preventing dental problems in adults and children.

What is the role of our dental hygienist?

Our Dental hygienists examine patients for signs of oral diseases, such as gingivitis, and provide preventive care, including oral hygiene. They also educate patients about oral health.

What will our Dental Hygienist do for you?

Dental hygienists are mainly concerned with ‘preventive’ dental health and treating gum disease – showing you correct home care and helping you to keep your teeth and gums healthy. This includes professionally cleaning your teeth by removing plaque and tartar (usually called a ‘scale and polish’ or a prophylaxis).

What happens of you ignore Dental Hygiene?

In addition to cavities, gum disease, tooth decay, and bad breath, there are several other serious conditions that can be caused or exacerbated by poor dental hygiene. These include heart disease, stroke, diabetes, respiratory issues, and even some forms of cancer.
